Accessibility Statement
Filipe Rocha is committed to making its web site accessible to all visitors. If you have any comments or suggestions for improvement, please contact me.
It’s been taken into consideration all of the common, as well as most of the uncommon, best practices for making a web site accessible. These practices include, but are not limited to:
- Appropriate alternate text for images is provided.
- Content and complex images include “alt” or “longdesc” attributes to help communicate the content of the images.
- Careful consideration of color blindness with regards to visual design and color selection.
- While use of JavaScript does provide and enhanced experience, all content of this website is accessible with JavaScript disabled.
- Careful consideration and understanding of the user experience with non-traditional browsers including text-only browsers and screen readers.
- Links include “title” attributes where the text of the link doesn’t adequately describe the target of the link.
- When possible, links are created to make sense out of context for browsers (such as JAWS, Lynx, Opera, etc.)
- Acronyms and Abbreviations include “title” attributes to explain their meaning
- Tables are created so that they are conveniently accessible by screen readers and communicate the information in an equivalently easy to understand method.
- More Accessible Stylesheets for better content reading:
- Use links available on the top right of this page and/or by changing the preferred stylesheet through browser menus:
- Firefox: View -> Page Style -> Small/Normal/Large Text
- Opera: View -> Style -> Small/Normal/Large Text
- Konqueror View -> Use Stylesheet -> Small/Normal/Large Text
- Safari ...
- Internet Explorer: View -> Text Size ->Small/Normal/Large Text (Couldn’t find “fast ways” to use user stylesheets. Not an accessible browser even in v.7)
